Fortnite returns to the App Store

After weeks of seemingly endless dispute between Epic Games and Apple, they have apparently found a solution: The Cupertino-based company has agreed to allow Fortnite in its App Store, making it available to users in both the United States and the European Union.

However, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this. So we don’t know if Apple will finally give in and make the game available to everyone, or if they’ll come back with a rule or law that allows them to remove it again.

Here’s how to download Fortnite on your iPhone in Europe
As mentioned previously, Fortnite is now available in the App Store, at least for the time being. This means you can search for it like any other game and install it without any problems.

The game was removed in 2020 when Epic Games implemented its own in-app payment system, violating Apple’s guidelines. As a result, they have been embroiled in a legal battle for five years and cannot be offered on the App Store.

A federal judge recently ruled that Apple cannot charge fees or prevent developers from redirecting users to payment methods outside the App Store. Following this ruling, Epic Games resubmitted Fortnite for review through its Swedish developer account. Apple initially rejected the application, prompting Epic to take legal action. Apple ultimately approved the game, and Fortnite is now available for download again in the US.

As mentioned previously, this could only be temporary, as Fortnite’s inclusion in the App Store will likely prompt many other developers to adopt the same methods, significantly impacting Apple’s revenue. Since these payments are made outside their system, Apple receives no commission. We’ll see if this is the end of it or if Fortnite, as mentioned, is removed from the App Store again. Therefore, it’s advisable to take advantage of the opportunity and install the game now. In the European Union, Fortnite is reportedly available again through both the Epic Games Store and the AltStore, giving us two options to obtain it.
