With the iPhone 19, Apple celebrates the 20th anniversary of its mobile phones.

This series will not simply be another one: it will be released in the year that the Cupertino-based company celebrates the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, the first version of which appeared in the hands of Steve Jobs in 2007.

The information about the smartphone comes from a reliable source, namely Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist who is a leading voice in the Apple world.

A recent report stated that the American manufacturer is preparing a “bold new Pro model” for 2027 to celebrate two decades of the iPhone series.

In the same year, Apple could also launch its first foldable smartphone. However, the spotlight would primarily be on the iPhone 19 Pro, which, according to Gurman, would fulfill one of the biggest wishes of Jony Ive, the designer and one of the key figures in the development of this smartphone family. The highlight: the device’s extreme thinness, which makes it appear like a “sheet of glass.”

This path would begin this year with the iPhone 17 Air, rumored to replace the Plus version and characterized by its ultra-thin design, measuring between 5 and 6 inches thick. The iPhone 19 Pro would further develop this approach with even greater thinness and increased use of glass.

This will affect the device’s durability, although Apple seems willing to take this risk in order to achieve a true revolution in the product line.

Naturally, more than two years after the unveiling and launch of the iPhone 19, there aren’t many new details about these products. However, Gurman has revealed some information, confirming what has already been said: the mobile phone industry isn’t solely focused on the immediate present.
