At least that’s what some fans believe, who have taken a closer look at the trailer and screenshots from the studio.

Rockstar recently released new video footage of GTA 6, and players have begun analyzing some of the scenes pixel by pixel. One screenshot in particular caused a stir – according to players, it shows a child. Speculation about this first surfaced in December 2023 when small outlines were noticed in the first trailer against the backdrop of a scene with a girl in the mud, but now the details are much clearer.

Is it really a child or just a minor character? Some are certain it’s a child, others believe it’s a minor character. Should fans solve the mystery, it would be the first time in GTA history that a minor character has appeared in the series. Unlike GTA, Red Dead Redemption 2 did feature children – but only to a very limited extent.

It’s still unclear what role these characters will play. If Rockstar does introduce children, they will likely only appear in cutscenes or have limited interactivity. GTA traditionally has a high age rating, which is why children are avoided for legal and ethical reasons. If they are interactive, they cannot be harmed. However, we know that after the PC version’s release, mods will almost certainly appear that circumvent these restrictions. Rockstar has not yet commented on the fan speculation.

GTA 6 will not be released until 2026, as the original release date was postponed. Shortly afterward, a second trailer was released, which garnered 475 million views within a single day.
